Shine all Summer Long with STRONGID® C 2X
Have you used about every topical product you can find to help your horse’s coat shine, but it still seems to lackluster? Maybe it’s not the outside, but rather what’s inside the horse that is causing the problem. Owners who use STRONGID C 2X (pyrantel tartrate) every day may quickly see an improvement in their horse’s condition as a result of daily parasite control. For best results, Pfizer Animal Health recommends treating horses with EQUIMAX® (ivermectin 1.87%/praziquantel 14.03%) prior to feeding STRONGID C 2X. Twice yearly use of EQUIMAX helps fight bot and tapeworm infestations. Horse owners should always consult their veterinarian before starting any deworming program. In 2008, Pfizer Animal Health kicked off their STRONGID C 2X Shine contest with fantastic results. The STRONGID C 2X Shine contest gave horse owners a way to celebrate their horse. Participants were asked to take a before photo of their horse, then begin a Daily Plus parasite control program that includes a purge dewormer (EQUIMAX) and then a daily feeding of STRONGID C 2X. After a few weeks, the owners were asked to take an after photo and write a brief essay on the changes they have seen in their horse as a result of STRONGID C 2X. The results gave proof that STRONGID C 2X helps treat parasites resulting in improved coat and body condition. Contest winner Robin Roccini feels that STRONGID C 2X has helped her horse Scout tremendously. When It’s a Dun DanDee, also known as Scout, came into Rocconi’s life, she had a dull coat, sunburned mane and tail and a lack of muscle tone with protruding ribs. “Today Scout stands at the barn and everyone notices her brilliant gleam,” said Rocconi. “I owe much of the credit to STRONGID C 2X. Now her hair coat is bright gold and her mane and tail are glossy and black the way buckskins should be.” Another contest winner, Grumpo, also known as Harvey, is a registered Thoroughbred that didn’t quite make it on the track. When his career needed a change, his hair coat was dull, his body condition was poor and his hooves were brittle and cracking. Lisa Kendrick, acquired Harvey in the spring of 2008 when his previous owners were unable to manage his medical conditions – chronic ulcer syndrome, arthritis and an overall hard keeper. After quarterly deworming treatments, ulcer treatments, the highest quality feed, hay and supplements and rigorous grooming, still nothing seemed to be doing the trick to get Harvey back to healthy body condition. That is when Kendrick started Harvey on STRONGID C 2X. “Harvey was paste wormed with an Ivermectin on May 1 and the next day started STRONGID C 2X,” said Kendrick. “Within two weeks we started to see a change in Harvey. His hair coat had started to shine and he looked as though he was finally putting on some weight even though we had not made any changes to his diet.” • • • • • |
